Die Entscheidung zu heiraten gilt heute als höchstpersönliche Angelegenheit des Brautpaares und Grundstein ihres individuellen GlĂŒcks. Doch wenn ein Paar heiratet, ist das nicht nur eine private Entscheidung. Die Brautleute sind immer auch EinflĂŒssen aus Elternhaus, Kirche, Gesamtgesellschaft und Staat ausgesetzt und wirken ihrerseits mit ihrer Entscheidung auf diese Institutionen zurĂŒck. Ănderungen im Heiratsverhalten stellen somit einen wichtigen Indikator fĂŒr gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen dar. Um diese Entwicklungen erfassen und darstellen zu können, hat eine Gruppe von acht Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern des Studiums im Alter an der UniversitĂ€t MĂŒnster, die Geschichte der Hochzeit im 20. Jahrhundert im Vergleich der Hochzeitsgenerationen der Studierenden (Heirat 1960-75), ihrer Eltern (Heirat 1930-45) und GroĂeltern (Heirat 1900-1915) untersucht. The Star Formation and Extinction Co-Evolution of UV-Selected Galaxies over 0.05<z<1.2
We use a new stacking technique to obtain mean mid IR and far IR to far UV
flux ratios over the rest near-UV/near-IR color-magnitude diagram. We employ
COMBO-17 redshifts and COMBO-17 optical, GALEX far and near UV, Spitzer IRAC
and MIPS Mid IR photometry. This technique permits us to probe infrared excess
(IRX), the ratio of far IR to far UV luminosity, and specific star formation
rate (SSFR) and their co-evolution over two orders of magnitude of stellar mass
and redshift 0.1<z<1.2. We find that the SSFR and the characteristic mass (M_0)
above which the SSFR drops increase with redshift (downsizing). At any given
epoch, IRX is an increasing function of mass up to M_0. Above this mass IRX
falls, suggesting gas exhaustion. In a given mass bin below M_0 IRX increases
with time in a fashion consistent with enrichment. We interpret these trends
using a simple model with a Schmidt-Kennicutt law and extinction that tracks
gas density and enrichment. We find that the average IRX and SSFR follows a
galaxy age parameter which is determined mainly by the galaxy mass and time
since formation. We conclude that blue sequence galaxies have properties which
show simple, systematic trends with mass and time such as the steady build-up
of heavy elements in the interstellar media of evolving galaxies and the
exhaustion of gas in galaxies that are evolving off the blue sequence. The IRX

Fungicide Efficacy on Fusarium Head Blight of Hard Red Winter Wheat in Parsons, KS
In 2022, a field experiment was conducted to investigate the efficacy of fungicide programs on Fusarium head blight (FHB) and deoxynivalenol (DON) levels. Fungicide treatments were evaluated in plots of the hard red winter wheat cultivar âKanMarkâ inoculated with Fusarium graminearum in Parsons, KS. Treatments consisted of a single application of Prosaro, Caramba, Miravis Ace, Prosaro Pro, or Sphaerex at early anthesis (Feekes 10.5.1), or dual application of Miravis Ace at early anthesis followed by (fb) Prosaro Pro, Sphaerex, or Folicur at 4 days after early anthesis. All fungicide programs numerically reduced FHB visual symptoms and resulted in increased yield compared to the untreated check, although differences were not statistically significant in all cases. The double application treatments (Miravis Ace fb Prosaro Pro, and Miravis Ace fb Spharex) resulted in the highest increase in test weight. Miravis Ace applied at early anthesis fb Prosaro Pro applied at 4 days after early anthesis resulted in the lowest DON levels (79% less than the untreated check)

A search for physics beyond the standard model is performed with events having one or more hadronically decaying Ï leptons, highly energetic jets, and large transverse momentum imbalance. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.98 fb-1 of proton-proton collisions at [Formula: see text] collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2011. The number of observed events is consistent with predictions for standard model processes. Lower limits on the mass of the gluino in supersymmetric models are determined

Measurement of masses in the [Formula: see text] system by kinematic endpoints in pp collisions at [Formula: see text].
A simultaneous measurement of the top-quark, W-boson, and neutrino masses is reported for [Formula: see text] events selected in the dilepton final state from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment in pp collisions at [Formula: see text]. The analysis is based on endpoint determinations in kinematic distributions. When the neutrino and W-boson masses are constrained to their world-average values, a top-quark mass value of [Formula: see text] is obtained. When such constraints are not used, the three particle masses are obtained in a simultaneous fit. In this unconstrained mode the study serves as a test of mass determination methods that may be used in beyond standard model physics scenarios where several masses in a decay chain may be unknown and undetected particles lead to underconstrained kinematics

Search for supersymmetry in hadronic final states with missing transverse energy using the variables αT and b-quark multiplicity in pp collisions at [Formula: see text].
An inclusive search for supersymmetric processes that produce final states with jets and missing transverse energy is performed in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 11.7 fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. In this search, a dimensionless kinematic variable, αT, is used to discriminate between events with genuine and misreconstructed missing transverse energy. The search is based on an examination of the number of reconstructed jets per event, the scalar sum of transverse energies of these jets, and the number of these jets identified as originating from bottom quarks. No significant excess of events over the standard model expectation is found. Exclusion limits are set in the parameter space of simplified models, with a special emphasis on both compressed-spectrum scenarios and direct or gluino-induced production of third-generation squarks. For the case of gluino-mediated squark production, gluino masses up to 950-1125 GeV are excluded depending on the assumed model. For the direct pair-production of squarks, masses up to 450 GeV are excluded for a single light first- or second-generation squark, increasing to 600 GeV for bottom squarks

Studies of Bs2â(5840)0 and Bs1(5830)0 mesons including the observation of the Bs2â(5840)0âB0KS0 decay in proton-proton collisions at s=8TeV.
Measurements of Bs2â(5840)0 and Bs1(5830)0 mesons are performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of , collected with the CMS detector at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 8TeV . The analysis studies P-wave Bs0 meson decays into B(â)+K- and B(â)0KS0 , where the B+ and B0 mesons are identified using the decays B+âJ/ÏK+ and B0âJ/ÏKâ(892)0 . The masses of the P-wave Bs0 meson states are measured and the natural width of the Bs2â(5840)0 state is determined. The first measurement of the mass difference between the charged and neutral Bâ mesons is also presented. The Bs2â(5840)0 decay to B0KS0 is observed, together with a measurement of its branching fraction relative to the Bs2â(5840)0âB+K- decay
